Educational Qualification:

For Junior Clerk Cum Typist:

• 12th (+2 Stage) or it’s equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/PwBD/ExServicemen and candidates who possess qualifications higher than 12th (+2 Stage).
• Typing proficiency in English /Hindi on the computer is essential.

For Trains Clerk:

• 12th(+2 Stage) or equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/PwBD/ExServicemen and candidate who possess qualifications higher than 12th (+2 Stage).

For Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk:

• 12th (+2 Stage) or equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/ SC/ST /PwBD/ ExServicemen and candidate who possess qualifications higher than 12th (+2 Stage).

For Goods Guard:

• Degree from recognized University or equivalent.

Sr.Commercial cum Ticket Clerk:

• Degree from recognized University or equivalent.

For Station Master:

• Degree from recognized University or equivalent.

Age Limit( as on 1.07.2019):

Maximum Age Limit:

• 42 years for General candidates
• 45 years for OBC candidates
• 47 years for SC/ST candidates.

Western Railway Recruitment Selection Process:

 The Selection will be made on the basis of a single stage of Computer Based Test(CBT)/OMR based examinations. For some posts, Skill test will be conducted for checking typing ability.

Scheme of Examinations:

Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, etc.

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement- Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs, etc.

General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications,Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World,etc.

Minimum Marks to Pass:

• UR-40%
• OBC (Non-creamy layer) -30%
• SC-30%
• ST-25%.
